When Diane Gaston was
a little girl she thought everyone had stories filling
their heads. It never occurred to her to write down
her stories, even though she loved reading, especially
reading Historical Romance. Instead she spent a career
as a county mental health therapist helping other people
craft real happy endings. It took a lull in Diane’s
busy life for her to finally put fingers to the keyboard
and bring her stories to life. Once started she never
looked back, even going on to win the Romance Writers
of America’s most prestigious RITA award, The
Orange Rose (now called the Book Buyers Best) and and
a National Readers Choice Award. She writes Regency
Historical Romance for Harlequin Mills & Boon and
for Warner (under the name Diane Perkins). Happily married
and the mother of a grown daughter and son, she and
her husband live in Northern Virginia with three very
ordinary house cats. Diane would love to hear from you.
“This is a Regency with
the gutsiness of a Dickens novel. It's not always
pretty, but it's real and passionate. Gaston's strong,
memorable debut provides new nsights into the era
and characters that touch your heart and draw you
emotionally into her powerful story." — Kathe Robin, Romantic Times BOOKclub
